Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most important questions about our services, procurement processes and collaboration. Can't find your question? Contact us directly.
Where does Intelligent Components source electronic components?
We work with qualified suppliers and production partners in international procurement markets — primarily in Asia. All coordination, communication and quality inspection is handled by us as your German-speaking contact in the DACH region.
Can you procure complete bills of materials (BOMs)?
Yes, this is one of our core services. Send us your bill of materials via BOM Sourcing (Excel, CSV or PDF) and we check availability, prices and lead times for all items. In case of shortages, we suggest compatible alternatives.
What is the difference between PCB and PCBA?
A PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is a bare circuit board — the physical carrier material with conductive traces. A PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) is the fully assembled and soldered board with all electronic components. We supply both — individually or as a complete package. More on our PCBA page.
Can you supply PCB and PCBA from a single source?
Yes. We offer circuit board procurement (PCB) and assembly (PCBA) as a complete package — including component procurement, assembly, testing and logistics. One contact, one quote, one delivery.
Which PCB technologies can be sourced?
We cover a broad spectrum: standard FR4 (1–2 layers), multilayer (up to 20+ layers), HDI, flex PCB, rigid-flex, aluminum PCB (IMS), metal core, high-TG, high-current PCB, impedance-controlled and high-frequency PCB. All details on our PCB page.
Which electronic components can you source?
Active components (MCU, MPU, FPGA, ICs, MOSFETs, IGBTs), passive components (resistors, capacitors, inductors), connectors, crystals, oscillators, sensors, LEDs, power supplies, cables and cable assemblies. The full range on our components page.
Is procurement of small quantities or prototypes possible?
Yes, we support both prototype manufacturing and series production. Minimum quantities depend on the respective product and supplier. For PCB prototypes, approximately 5–10 pieces are realistic; for components, manufacturer-side MOQs apply.
How does quality control work?
Quality is considered from the beginning: supplier qualification, specification review, production monitoring and incoming goods inspection. Depending on the product and agreement, we provide inspection reports, material certificates and further documentation. Details on our quality page.
What documentation can be provided?
Depending on the product and agreement: inspection reports, material certificates, CoC (Certificate of Conformity), RoHS/REACH certificates, traceability documentation, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and impedance reports.
How long does a typical delivery take?
Lead times vary depending on product and quantity. Guidelines: PCB prototypes from approx. 5–10 business days, PCB series 2–4 weeks, PCBA depending on complexity 3–6 weeks, components depending on availability from stock to several weeks. We provide specific lead times in our quote.
How do you ensure component authenticity?
We preferably work with authorized distributors and original manufacturers. When sourcing from the open market, we verify origin documentation and offer extended testing (decapsulation, X-ray, electrical tests) when needed.
What happens if a component is not available?
We research compatible alternatives (cross-references / second source) and verify their technical equivalence. Additionally, we inform about lifecycle status and potential end-of-life risks (EOL).
In what format should I send my bill of materials?
Ideally as an Excel file (.xlsx) with manufacturer, manufacturer part number (MPN), quantity and description. We also accept CSV, PDF, ODS and free text via email. The more complete the BOM, the faster the quote.
Are there minimum order values?
There is no general minimum order value with us. Some components and circuit boards have manufacturer-side minimum order quantities (MOQ), which we transparently indicate in the quote.
How can I send an inquiry?
You can reach us via our contact form, submit your bill of materials or send an email directly to info@intelligentcomponents.de. We typically respond within 24 hours.
